After any necessary pre-treatment surgeries, such as tooth extractions, you’ll come into Downey Park Family Dental to have your gums fitted for dentures. Dr. Acree will use dental putty to take impressions of your gums and any remaining teeth, if applicable. He will use these impressions to make a bite form, which will be used to measure your bite pattern and structure.
Dr. Acree will send your impressions, bite form, and other images and information to a dental lab. The lab will create a set of wax test dentures that will be sent back to Downey Park Family Dental. You will come in for an appointment to try these wax dentures, and Dr. Downey will check the fit. Depending on the results, you may need further adjustments, or the dentures may be approved right away.
